1. Account Registration
App Download
The customer starts by downloading the Bloom app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Account Creation
When creating their account, they fill in their personal information:
· Name and surname,
· Date of birth (to ensure that he or she is of age),
· Address e-mail,
· Phone number,
· Full geographical address (useful for future deliveries).
A 4-digit OTP code is immediately sent by SMS to validate their phone number. This code is unique and for a limited time.
The customer then sets a 5-digit numerical password, which is essential to secure access to his account.
Before finalizing the registration, he validates the General Terms and Conditions of Use directly in the application.
Note : The activation of biometric authentication will be offered at a later date, subject to the authorization of the Personal Data Protection Authority.
The account is now created but the customer cannot make any transactions until they have completed the identity verification.
2. Identity Verification (KYC)
KYC verification is mandatory as soon as the account is opened to fully access the services.
The customer is invited to:
- Upload a photo of your ID: national card, passport or driver's license.
- Take a dynamic selfie for biometric verification.
- The app automatically captures personal data through OCR reading of the document.
- A check is carried out in real time:
o Authenticity of the document.
o Facial verification.
o Liveness Control
o Checking against international sanctions lists, PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) databases
The treatment is carried out between 35 and 55 seconds.
Once validated, the customer is immediately notified and can access all of Bloom's features.
In the event of instant non-validation, a notification is automatically sent to the Compliance Manager for further analysis and follow-up with the customer and/or regulatory authorities.
3. Buying Bloom Cards
Step 1: Access the Catalog or Quick Selection from the Home Page
From the Bloom application, the customer has two access paths to start their card purchase:
· Option 1: Direct access from the home page
On the app's home screen, the different categories of cards are highlighted.
The customer can click directly on the type of card they wish to purchase:
o Mastercard prepaid card (virtual or physical),
o Personalized Gift Card,
o Gift card dedicated to a partner merchant.
· Option 2 : Navigation via le catalogue
The customer can also access the complete catalogue of cards by clicking on the "Catalogue" section.
He then discovers the different categories available:
o Thematic cards (birthday, birth, travel, etc.),
o Customizable cards for all occasions,
o Special partner offers.
In both cases, the customer can freely consult the visuals, the terms of use and the merchants associated with each card.
Step 2: Map selection and customization
The customer selects the type of card desired. For virtual cards, he customizes his visual:
· Adding images or photos,
· Entering a custom essay,
· Choice of background color from several palettes.
After choosing their virtual card, the customer has the option of ordering a physical card in addition, which they can receive at home.
Step 3: Specificity of Group Gift Card Purchase
L’application Bloom Allows to organize some shopping from cards Gifts Collective. The initiating client creates the card and invites other participants to contribute:
· They share an invite link to friends or group members.
· Each participant indicates the amount they wish to bring and proceeds to their individual payment.
· When the total amount is reached, the card is automatically generated and ready to be sent.
Step 4: Card Payment
The customer selects their payment method:
· Mobile Money (Orange Money, Moov Money, MTN Money, Wave),
· Bloom Mastercard or Bloom Code.
The app clearly details:
· The amount of the card,
· Operator fees (Mobile Money: 2%, Bloom Card/Code: free),
· Any service fees,
· Le total final.
When the customer makes the payment, the transaction is executed through a secure API, directly connecting the Bloom app to the payment provider.
Process by payment method : Mobile Money :
· Orange Money, MTN Money, Moov Money: the customer generates an OTP code from the operator's application or via USSD and enters it in Bloom.
· Wave: The customer is redirected to the operator's application to validate the transaction, then returns to Bloom for confirmation.
Bloom Mastercard (for gift card purchase):
· The customer enters their existing Bloom card information (number, expiration, CVV).
· The system checks the available balance on the card.
· The transaction is executed instantly as an in-house card-to-card transfer, at no cost to the customer.
· A confirmation notification is sent via SMS and the order is finalized.
Code Bloom :
· The customer enters the Bloom code received (offered by Bloom as part of a promotion or special operation).
· The system checks the validity of the code and the amount available.
· The amount is automatically applied to the order.
· If necessary, the customer will complete the application with another payment method.
· The transaction is confirmed by SMS notification and in the app history.
After validation, the purchased card is generated immediately (virtual card) or the order is sent to customer service for the physical card.
4. Activation and Delivery of Prepaid Cards Virtual Mastercard
· Once the payment is confirmed, Bloom forwards the customer's information to GTP (identity and amount loaded).
· The card is generated immediately with its data (number, expiry, CVV) and available in the customer's wallet.
Physical Mastercard
· After purchasing the virtual card, the customer can choose to order a physical card by selecting "Order my physical card".
· The app displays the delivery address entered during registration for verification or modification.
· The physical card is sold at the price of 5,000 FCFA (or promotional price).
· The customer proceeds to the payment following the same steps as for the virtual card.
· Once the payment is confirmed, a notification is automatically sent to the Service in charge at Bloom who organizes the delivery within 5 working days.
· The customer receives the Bloom physical card at his address, carefully packaged and accompanied by a personalized letter including the card's confidential code, essential for in-store payments and ATM withdrawals.
· Upon receipt of their card, the customer selects " Activate my physical card " in their app and enters the card ID (written on the back of the card).
· The app passes the information to GTP to complete the activation.
· The card is now ready to use after reloading.
5. Sending Bloom Gift Cards
Step 1: Map selection and customization
The customer chooses the gift card to be sent and personalizes it with:
· Images or photos,
· A personal message.
Step 2: Enter the recipient's contact information
It enters the recipient's phone number or WhatsApp number.
Step 3: Send the card
Bloom automatically sends a message to the recipient containing:
· A notification of receipt of a gift card
· The amount offered
· A personalized message (optional)
· The name of the sender
· A link to access the map or download the app.
6. Receiving and Activating Bloom Gift Cards
If the recipient is already a Bloom user and correctly identified:
· He opens the notification message and accesses his wallet.
· They select the gift card they received and click " Activate my gift card".
· This click triggers the transmission of information to the card processor for card creation and activation.
· The card is immediately added to their wallet.
If the recipient does not yet have the Bloom app:
· The message received prompts them to download the app.
· When registering, they follow the full process:
o Account creation,
o Identity verification (KYC required).
· Once registered, they find the card in their wallet and select "Activate my gift card".
· The app passes the information to the card processor to activate the card.
In all cases, the recipient keeps the card in their history for future consultation or use.
7. Using Bloom Cards
The cards can be used:
· Online, on sites that accept Mastercard
· In-store, thanks to the physical card
· At vending machines, for the physical card
When making an online purchase with their Bloom card, the customer follows a secure process:
- Card data entry: The customer enters their Bloom card information (number, expiration date, CVV) on the merchant's checkout page.
- Redirection to 3D Secure authentication: Before final validation, the customer is automatically redirected to a secure 3D Secure authentication page integrated via the API of our partner GTP.
- Identity verification: It receives an OTP code via SMS to enter to confirm the transaction.
- Validation and confirmation: Once the code is validated, the transaction is confirmed. The customer immediately receives a summary SMS and finds the transaction in the history of his Bloom application.
From their wallet, the customer can also:
· Make card-to-card transfers
· Reload your cards
· Follow its detailed history
· Block or unblock your cards
8. Reloading Bloom Prepaid Cards
The customer can top up their Bloom cards:
· Virtual card: minimum 200 FCFA
· Gift card: minimum 10,000 FCFA.
Charging options:
Mobile Money :
- Selecting the amount
- Payment via Orange Money, MTN Money, Moov Money or Wave
- Instant confirmation by notification and balance update.
In cash at Bloom partner pick-up points:
- The customer goes to an approved pick-up point
- He gives his card number
- The top-up is made immediately after payment in cash
- Immediate confirmation by notification.
9. Cash Out – Transfer from Bloom Card to Mobile Money
Bloom allows its users to withdraw funds from their prepaid card to their Mobile Money account.
Steps of the transfer:
- Selecting the "Transfer to Mobile Money" option in the Bloom app.
- Choice of the Bloom card to be debited and entry of the phone number associated with the Mobile Money account.
- Choice of Mobile Money operator (Orange Money, MTN Money, Moov Money, Wave).
- Enter the desired amount, up to the limit of the available balance.
- Clear display of transfer fees:
o 1% for Orange Money, MTN Money, Moov Money,
o 1.5% for Wave.
- Transfer confirmation, processing via Hub2 Secure API.
- Immediate notification in the app and via SMS with the transfer summary.
The transfer is usually credited in real time or within a few minutes depending on the operator.
10. Costumer Support and Notifications
· Real-time notifications for each operation,
· Support accessible directly via the application (chatbot available 24/7 and FAQ) and by email support@bloomcard.app
· In the event of a complex situation, the file is automatically escalated to the compliance department for priority processing.
